Oaxaca and Monte Alban

Publié le par Carole

Hello there,

We are back on the road. No more sunbathing and no more swimming. David even threw away his bathing suit. So desperate...

Yesterday morning, we got up early to have a last swim and then got a taxi to Pochotla. At 12pm, we were in a van to Oaxaca. Reached the city at 5:30pm feeling real sick after being driven through mountains. Found an okay hostel and then walked to the main square: El Zocalo. We were lucky enough to arrive right in time for a show given by the State of Oaxaca: all the traditional dances. Got to see women dancing with pineapples. Better to dance with a pineapple rather than with a man I suppose... We had some club sandwich and had an early night.

Today I had my eyes wide open at 5am.... tummy ache. Don´t know what went wront with last night´s food but tonight, it is still there. Anyway, we visited the nice city of Oaxaca. Got our bus tickets to Puebla for tomorrow, had a look at the market, then went up to the cathedral. This afternoon, we visited the ruins of Monte Alban, the ancient Zapotec city.

Next stop: Puebla. We will be on the bus tomorrow from 10am to ? See you there.
