A familiar face
On Wednesday, we got the metro (and not the train this time) to "la boca", the oldest part of Buenos Aires, with the houses painted in different colors and people dancing Tango in the streets. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. Our steps led us to "san Telmo" where we had a nice refreshing drink, listening to live Jazz music. It use to be the rich part of BA and it has become now THE place where you can get any old stuff (pieces of furniture, lamps etc.) There are heaps of shops buying and reselling the old stuff you wan to get rid of. Not really my cup of tea…
Yesterday (yes, Thursday), we decided to breathe some fresh air and we went to the park. BA is unbreathable when it gets warm, the buses, trucks and cars are very, very old and I don´t think they have ever heard of Ethanol :) By the way, you can find some nice french cars that you would no longer see in France. So we headed towards Palermo where you can find a few parks full of joggers. There´s a zoo that we did not go to and a Japanese garden...zeeeeeeeeeeeen ! That was good.
In the afternoon I arranged a meeting with a colleague of mine : Giampiero ! We were working together in Ireland and he had told me about his plan to travel for a year in South America . He had rang me before we left on the 8th of October hoping that we could meet...and we did ! It was really strange to see a familiar face in BA and neither of us was expecting to meet so soon. We went for a drink and exchanged our ideas about our trips. He is heading South, we go North. Hopefully our paths will meet again.
At 6:30 pm we got on the bus to Posadas . Amazing comfort, the bus is spacious, they serve food and drinks, it was even better than the flight ! And here we are in Posadas . We arrived today at 8:30 am. It´s very warm and sunny. We have to drink a lot. The problem is that I am hungry now, so I´ll have to leave you there. See you later !
