The sacred valley

I hope you all had a great Xmas and that Santa brought you all kind of goodies. I bet you´re already preparing New Year´s Eve and wondering where you can get drunk and forget about all that happened in 2006. We know already where we´re gonna spent New Year´s Eve, well, more or less. Tonight we are heading towards Arequipa, Peru at 9:00 p.m to arrive there at 6:00 a.m. As we have to catch our flight in Lima on the 5th of January, we´ve found a nice oasis located in-between, called Ica. We should get there on the 30th or 31st. If what we were told is correct, we should spent New Year´s Eve on the beach. Awesome, isn´t it ? I guess most of you are freezing to death right now, I mean. those who are in Europe. Let us know what are your plans. If you´re looking for a warmer place, you´re welcome to join us in Ica.
Let´s talk about today. We went to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for a full day tour. Luckily, today was very sunny and we had only a few scattered showers, so we really enjoyed the tour and we really appreciated the ruins. For once, we could take pictures with a bit of blue sky. There were 34 of us on the bus, among whom an Californian girl from L.A. We spent the day together. The tour started with Pisac, the only Inca town still inhabited, very impressive. Then the bus dropped us in Chinchero, a small village where you can see the mix between the Inca style and the colonial style. The Spaniards actually built their houses and churches on the old Inca temples, keeping the Inca stones.
Well, that´s it for today. It was really good as the guide told us many stories and manage to keep us awake. We have to rush now, to take our bus. So, I´ll see you later.
